Installation — wood, soldier's burial uniform, stone. A new burial uniform — the one in which a fallen soldier is dressed before interment — lies folded on a heavy wooden bench, one end of which is supported not by a leg but by a single stone. The uniform is empty: it waits for its dead, still unknown, to be buried with him. Between the worked timber and the unworked stone holds the precarious equilibrium of waiting — a silent readiness for a death not yet arrived.
